Grand Dakar : Un chauffeur interpellé avec du chanvre et du haschich
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., police officers from the Grand Dakar district police station apprehended an individual during their anti-crime operations in the area. Taken into custody, the man identified himself as MA BAH, born in Pita, Guinea. Aged 28, he works as a driver and resides in the Medina neighborhood.
This arrest follows a police operation conducted within the area of responsibility of the local police station. Around 3 a.m., after several hours of patrolling, officers set up a checkpoint at the roundabout next to the Socialist Party headquarters.
It was at this location that they intercepted a taxi carrying three people, heading towards the Medina.
After an identity check, the police decided to search the vehicle. This search allowed them to discover, in a backpack belonging to MA BAH, sixty-seven packets of Indian hemp and sixteen jets of hashish.
When briefly questioned about the discovery, MA BAH admitted to owning the drugs. He claimed they were for his personal use, an explanation that failed to convince investigators. When asked about the origin of the drugs, he stated that he had acquired them in Guinea-Conakry.
MA BAH was then taken into custody for possession and international drug trafficking. The sixty-seven packets of Indian hemp and sixteen packets of hashish were confiscated at the police station.
The prosecutor has been informed of the facts and an investigation is underway.
