Grand-Dakar : Un jeune interpellé avec plus d’un kilo de chanvre indien à Niary Tally
Officers from the Grand-Dakar district police station's investigation unit apprehended an individual in the Niary Tally area during a patrol within their jurisdiction. Upon arriving near the Nguélew field, the officers spotted a young man accompanied by a motorcycle taxi driver, who had apparently just dropped him off.
Upon seeing the police, the motorcyclist sped off. The young man, identified by his initials SS, also tried to flee on foot. A chase ensued before he was apprehended.
During a security pat-down, police discovered five packages of cannabis carefully concealed under his clothing. The drugs, weighing a total of 1.06 kg, were seized and taken to police headquarters.
When questioned briefly, SS reportedly admitted to owning the seized drugs, but refused to reveal the identity of his supplier.
After being informed of his rights, he was taken into custody for the alleged offering and sale of cannabis. The public prosecutor has been notified, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the drugs and identify any accomplices.
