« 3 000 FCFA par éjaculation » : le bar abritait des « chambres closes » au 1er étage
A suspected clandestine prostitution ring operating in the heart of the Lansar district of Grand-Yoff was dismantled during an operation conducted Sunday around 9:30 p.m. by the local police station. According to Libération, ten individuals were arrested. They could face charges of "violating the operating regulations of a licensed establishment," "pimping," "failure to register with the health and social services database," "illegal residency," and "endangering the lives of others."
Alerted by intelligence indicating "intense clandestine prostitution activity" and "recurring fights" at the "Essentiel" bar, the police conducted "several discreet cross-checks" before launching the raid. While the ground floor served as a regular bar, the first floor housed seven "closed rooms" where six Nigerian women and one Senegalese woman were caught "in the act of prostitution."
The newspaper reports that the system was based on a precise pricing: managers received 5,000 FCFA "after each service which cannot exceed one hour", while prostitutes received 3,000 FCFA "after each ejaculation of the client".
Seized goods placed under seal and irregular situation
During the raid, the managers, including two bouncers (B. Fall and O. Sarr) and a waitress (AW Sall), were arrested in possession of 233,000 FCFA, proceeds from the evening's illicit activities. The money was seized and placed under seal for the purposes of the investigation.
The checks also revealed that the Nigerian women "were in the country illegally" and "were not registered with the Ministry of Health's health and social services database." Furthermore, the same source reports that "hundreds of condoms and tissues" found in their handbags were seized and placed under seal.
The investigators also accuse the managers of having "misused the purpose of the operating permit issued by the administrative authority."
