Grand Yoff : un adolescent de 14 ans grièvement blessé à coups de machette, deux suspects arrêtés
The Grand Yoff district police station arrested two individuals being prosecuted for attempted murder, following a violent attack on a 14-year-old boy in the Grand Yoff 1 district of Dakar.
The incident occurred as the minor was walking to a local eatery. He was accosted by a group of four individuals who accused him of stealing a cell phone. During the altercation, the teenager was struck on the head with a machete before being brutally beaten while on the ground.
Alerted, the police investigation unit quickly deployed to the scene. With the help of a witness, investigators managed to apprehend two members of the group. The two other suspects fled and remain at large.
The victim was rushed to Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand Yoff. According to reports, she suffered a skull fracture as well as loss of mobility in her left arm and the tip of her right leg.
During their hearing, the two accused admitted their participation in the attack, while attempting to minimize the seriousness of their actions.
They were taken into custody for attempted murder. Meanwhile, the search continues for the two other members of the group involved in this violent attack.
