Guinaw-Rail : le chauffeur d'une ambassade à Dakar maîtrise un client armé d'une machette dans un bar
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, a chaotic scene unfolded at the "Chez Angel" bar in the Guinaw-Rail district of Dakar. Mr. Pereira, 51, a driver for a diplomatic mission in Senegal, went to the local police station to hand over an individual he had just subdued, who was in possession of a machete and ten packets of marijuana, according to Seneweb sources.
It all started when O. Baldé, 26, a driver residing in Keur Massar, went to the bar "Chez Angel" and insistently, and by force, demanded that the bartender sell him red wine. When the bartender refused, the customer became enraged and argued violently with him.
Trying to defuse the situation, Mr. Pereira intervened by offering O. Baldé an order of two cans of beer instead of the red wine he had requested. The offer was rejected, which escalated into a physical altercation between the two men.
During the struggle, O. Baldé pulled out a machete concealed in his trousers. However, he was quickly subdued by Mr. Pereira.
As Mr. Pereira was driving O. Baldé to the police station, the latter tried to discreetly dispose of a bag containing ten packets of marijuana that he had concealed in his pockets. The bag was discovered by children playing near the police station as he was throwing it away.
When questioned about the origin of the drugs, O.Baldé tried to deny being the owner, without convincing the investigators.
After being informed of his rights, O. Baldé was taken into custody for offering and selling marijuana and for possession of a bladed weapon. The machete and ten packets of drugs were impounded at the police station for the purposes of the investigation. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko was informed and an investigation is underway.
