Guy Marius Sagna dans le viseur du collectif Fatali : « Manipulation, mensonges et opportunisme »
The Fatali collective has launched a scathing attack against MP Guy Marius Sagna. In a public statement, the organization strongly condemns the parliamentarian's recent pronouncements, accusing him of "manipulation," "lies," and "opportunism." According to Fatali, the elected representative "missed a golden opportunity" to address several priority issues of paramount importance to the Senegalese people during the formal session of the National Assembly.
The group believes that the MP should have questioned the Government about repealing the amnesty law in order to shed light on the deaths recorded during the political demonstrations from 2021 to 2024. Fatali also mentions the Sweet Beauty case and demands its reopening, while recalling Ousmane Sonko's conviction for corruption of youth.
The organization lists a long list of topics it wants to see brought to public debate: the orientations of the Jàmm Ak Njariñ program , the controversy surrounding the hidden debt and the sincerity of public finance figures, the management of the "one thousand billion account", the funds allocated to the Bakel crisis, the compensation promised to victims, as well as the awarding of the contract for the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER).
In addition to these grievances, there are questions about the transparency of political funds, the financing obtained from the Abu Dhabi fund, the issue of the criminalization of homosexuality, the revelations of journalist Madiambal Diagne on the acquisition of intelligence equipment, and the level of participation of the State of Senegal in the DP World container terminal.
An economic strategy deemed insufficient and a blunt warning
Fatali also criticizes the economic policy implemented by the Executive branch, deeming the targeted tax revenues on alcohol, tobacco, and gambling insufficient. According to the group, these measures cannot constitute a credible recovery strategy in a national context now dominated by the exploitation of oil and gas resources. The management of the National Sanitation Office of Senegal (ONAS) is also among the areas where clarifications are urgently needed.
Beyond these sectoral issues, the group primarily criticizes Guy Marius Sagna for prioritizing political maneuvering over social emergencies. Fatali maintains that his invective was an attempt to divert attention from the intervention of Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Lô, whose speech, according to the group, highlighted the continuity of former President Macky Sall's strategic orientations in the areas of social safety nets, infrastructure, youth, and education.
Adopting a particularly aggressive tone, the group warns that the MP's pronouncements will no longer be enough to mask the majority's difficulties. "For every misstep, he will receive a firm response," the organization cautions.
