Halwar : parti à la recherche de sa chèvre, un homme retrouvé mort après une attaque d’abeilles
A tragedy occurred in the town of Halwar, where a man named Bouya Pam lost his life following a bee attack in the middle of the forest.
According to reports, Bouya Pam hadn't been able to find his goat since Saturday. So, on Sunday, he went into the forest to look for it, accompanied by a young man. Once there, the two separated. Bouya Pam then continued alone into the forest to cut wood.
Around 11 a.m., while chopping wood, he was attacked by a swarm of bees nesting in a tree. The multiple stings caused him to stop breathing. In an attempt to escape the insects, he also removed his clothing.
It wasn't until around 9 p.m. that residents, worried about his failure to return, went looking for him. It was during this search that they discovered his lifeless body. Following this discovery, the sub-prefect of Gamadji Saré was alerted, as was the gendarmerie brigade of Démette.
The body was then taken to the regional hospital in Ndioum. After the death was confirmed, the remains were released to the family for burial.
This tragedy has reignited the debate surrounding bee attacks in the area, where such incidents have become increasingly frequent. Faced with this alarming situation, local residents are urgently appealing to the authorities for immediate action, particularly by providing them with appropriate equipment to combat bee infestations and prevent further tragedies.
