Horreur à Ouest-Foire : une étudiante congolaise jette son nouveau-né dans un camion d'ordures
The territorial brigade of the Foire district has referred a 26-year-old Congolese student, BO, to the Dakar prosecutor's office. She is being prosecuted for child abduction and desecration of a newborn's corpse.
The events date back to October 19th. On that day, the Foire gendarmerie was informed of the situation of a patient, BO, residing in Ouest-Foire. The young woman had just given birth outside of a hospital setting. Her umbilical cord had already been cut, but she refused to tell the health workers where her newborn was.
When questioned by investigators, the woman finally gave an explanation. According to her statements, her infant was stillborn, and she had already thrown it into a garbage truck.
Accompanied by the young woman and the on-call doctor, the gendarmes went to the garbage dump. Their search proved fruitless: the truck had already dumped its load at the Mbeubeuss landfill, and the newborn's body was not found, according to Seneweb sources.
Once her medical treatment was complete, the young woman was informed of her rights, including her right to legal counsel. She was then taken into custody for child abduction and desecration of a corpse. Following the legal proceedings, she was brought before the High Court of Dakar.
