Îles Canaries : Deux pirogues parties du Sénégal débarquent avec 197 migrants
Two new boats departing from the Senegalese coast have reached the island of El Hierro, in the Spanish Canary Islands archipelago, with a total of 197 migrants on board.
The first pirogue, carrying 107 people, arrived at the port of La Restinga on Sunday at 7 p.m. The group consisted of 99 men, five women, and three minors. The vessel was escorted by the "Salvamar Navia".
Upon arrival, the migrants were met by the Red Cross, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), and the relevant authorities. Two people required evacuation to the island's hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers were to be transferred to the Temporary Reception Center for Foreigners (CATE) in San Andrés, Valverde, pending their transfer off the island.
A second pirogue, also departing from Senegal, was rescued on Monday with 90 people on board, including 11 women and 13 minors (six girls and eight babies). All received assistance from the relevant services.

Est ce que quelqu’un sait que deviennent ces pirogues une fois arrivées ? Et les piroguiers ?
Merci
