A gendarme serving at the Prime Minister's office, PL Manga, personally orchestrated the arrest of S. Guèye, a 39-year-old individual claiming to be a tailor and residing in Niacoulrab, before handing him over to the Jaxaay police station on June 6.

According to L'Observateur, which broke the story, the suspect is being prosecuted for "embezzlement, corruption, and repeated rape of a minor." It all began when the gendarme, upon receiving his niece Y. Diallo's report card a few days ago, "reported that her grades had significantly dropped." Furthermore, the newspaper belonging to the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM) details, the officer "had heard in the neighborhood that she was dating" their neighbor. Worried, he ordered his wife to take the teenager to the nearest health center for an examination, where the results "allegedly revealed that the girl was no longer a virgin."

The case took a dramatic turn when the suspect contacted the young girl to arrange a meeting at an inn in Jaxaay. Keeping his niece under close surveillance, the gendarme discreetly followed her to the establishment. Unable to enter the room the teenager had just entered, PL Manga patiently waited outside. It was only a few minutes after Guèye left the room with the minor that the uncle intervened, arresting him and taking him directly to the investigators.

When questioned by police, the victim explained that she had met the tailor at his workshop a few months prior. She stated that he regularly invited her to a house under construction near her home for intimate encounters, specifying that he had deflowered her and that they had had sexual relations five times. Regarding the meeting at the inn, however, she clarified that it had been limited to kissing and touching. For his part, the accused categorically denied the rape allegations during his interrogation, claiming that the teenager was simply his girlfriend and that he intended to marry her. He justified the choice of the inn by stating that they needed to pursue their romance away from prying eyes.

Despite the tailor's denials, the young woman firmly maintained her statements during a direct confrontation, adding a specific detail: the suspect systematically used condoms in each of their encounters.

For the purposes of the investigation, the Gfm news report adds, a request was sent to a gynecologist at the Keur Massar health center to examine the victim. Pending the results of this examination, the tailor was taken into custody.
