Kaolack: Clash between supporters, six arrested after throwing stones at a police vehicle

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, around 1:00 AM, a violent clash broke out between supporters of the ASC "Diambar" and "Xorom Ci" in the Dialègne neighborhood of Kaolack. Six people were arrested and taken into custody. The Public Prosecutor's Office has been notified and an investigation is underway.

On October 4, 2026, around 1 a.m., the Kaolack police station's research brigade intervened in the Dialègne district, following a violent clash between supporters of the ASC "Diambar" and "Xorom Ci".

Upon arrival at the scene, police officers found that the individuals involved were engaging in assault and stone throwing, creating a serious disturbance to public order.

The police vehicle was targeted

The police officers were then attacked. Projectiles were deliberately thrown at the police station vehicle. Faced with this situation, the police officers initiated maneuvers to restore order.

After a few minutes of confrontation, the hostile gathering was completely dispersed. This dispersal allowed for the immediate arrest of six of the main troublemakers.

Taken to the police station, the six accused were placed in custody for fighting, violence and assault, disturbing public order and throwing projectiles at a public force vehicle, according to Seneweb sources.

Prosecutor Abass Yaya Wane, head of the local prosecutor's office, has been informed of the facts. An investigation is underway.
