Kaolack : le bilan provisoire de l’effondrement d’un bâtiment R+3
A three-story building collapsed overnight Saturday to Sunday in Taba Ngoye, near the Oustaz Dièye mosque in Kaolack. The tragedy resulted in one death and three injuries, according to the preliminary report released by Lieutenant-Colonel Erasme Sambou, commander of Fire and Rescue Group No. 3.
Alerted, firefighters quickly deployed to the scene to assist the victims. Teams launched search and rescue operations in the rubble to check for the possible presence of other people.
The three injured people, who sustained minor injuries, were treated by emergency services. Operations are continuing at the site to ensure that no other victims remain trapped under the rubble.
The circumstances and causes of the collapse of this four-story building remain unknown at this time. A site assessment will be necessary to determine the factors that led to the collapse.
