Kaolack: Fallou Kébé's UDK party provides cleaning equipment and supplies to markets, the stadium, and schools

In a proactive move, Fallou Kébé, president of the Union for the Development of Kaolack (UDK), handed over a batch of cleaning equipment including garbage bins, wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes and brooms to several infrastructures in the regional capital.

The handover took place first at the Bou Ndaw market in the Kasnack district, then at the Lamine Guèye stadium, and finally at the Amadou Tanor Dieng elementary school in Passoire, where the association donated school equipment consisting of photocopiers, a printer, reams of paper, notebooks and pens.

This initiative is part of an ambitious funding and awareness program already deployed in key areas such as the central market, Medina Baye, and the bus stations in Nioro and Dakar. The objective is clear: to establish rigorous hygiene standards that not only enhance the image of the markets but also guarantee the health of consumers and vendors.

“It is imperative that we recognize our role in creating a clean and welcoming business environment,” said Fallou Kébé at the donation ceremony. This statement underscores UDK’s strong commitment to promoting exemplary hygiene practices and raising awareness among local stakeholders about the importance of cleanliness.

The vendors, clearly motivated by this initiative, expressed their gratitude and their willingness to adopt these new tools. "With this equipment, we finally have the means to keep our market clean, which is essential to attract our customers," commented one of them.

Alongside the distribution of this equipment, UDK plans to organize training workshops to instill good hygiene practices in those involved in commerce. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure the sustainable application of the new standards, thereby transforming the Bou Ndaw market into a model of commercial cleanliness.

In short, with this initiative, Fallou Kébé is not just providing tools, he is also instilling a collective dynamic in favor of a healthier living and learning environment in Kaolack.
