Kédougou : la Section de recherches (SR) démantèle un réseau présumé de traite de personnes
The Research Section (SR) of the Gendarmerie of Kédougou conducted, during the night of August 28-29, 2026, a targeted operation against a suspected network of human trafficking, pimping and the operation of a gambling house operating without administrative authorization.
The operation followed intelligence indicating the existence of a network operating in the area. Based on this information, members of the Kédougou Research Section launched an operation that took place from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
At the end of the operation, 23 people were arrested, including 21 Nigerian nationals and two Malian nationals. The gendarmes also seized 10 slot machines, believed to be linked to the gambling activity reported in the intelligence gathered.
The operation proceeded without incident, according to reports. No unusual events were reported during the intervention.
Those arrested should be subject to the procedures provided for by law in order to determine their possible involvement in the alleged acts and the responsibilities of each individual.
