Keur Massar: 10,000 CFA francs for two encounters, a prostitution ring dismantled

D. Dia, 24, and women P. Ndiaye, 25, and M. Ba, 24, were brought before the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office on Tuesday on charges of pimping and organized prostitution in a furnished apartment. Ten thousand CFA francs for two encounters: that was the price advertised to potential clients by D. Dia, who organized sexual encounters in an apartment in Keur Massar.

On October 25, officers from the vice and juvenile division of the Dakar central police station raided the premises. The operation followed advertisements posted on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of a young woman and a phone number. An investigator called the number, posing as a client. On the other end of the line, a man offered him a girl for sex for 10,000 CFA francs.

According to the investigation, D. Dia admitted to recruiting the two young women to work as prostitutes in the apartment. The advertisements had also been posted on the website neexna.com . Appointments with clients were arranged by telephone.

Up to ten clients a day: that's the rate the two young women told investigators. Ms. Ba, who claims to have been recruited by D. Dia, explained that she earned up to 75,000 CFA francs per week. P. Ndiaye, for her part, maintains that she worked independently.

D. Dia stated that P. Ndiaye was his girlfriend, while M. Ba was his employee. He also indicated that he rented the apartment for 140,000 CFA francs per month. The search resulted in the seizure of five basic cell phones, presented as devices used to answer customer calls, a pack of condoms, and a bottle of lubricant.
