The Anti-Drug Fighting Group (GLAD) of the National Gendarmerie proceeded, on Friday, August 28, 2026 at around 6:30 p.m., to arrest an individual of Nigerian nationality for possession, trafficking, offering and transfer of cocaine, as well as for attempted corruption.

The operation followed intelligence indicating the existence of a network involved in hard drug trafficking between the municipalities of Keur Massar, Pikine, and Castors. Based on this information, the gendarmes of the GLAD (Local Anti-Drug Trafficking Group) launched an investigation to locate and identify those involved in this trafficking.

Investigations carried out by the gendarmes led to the arrest of the suspect in possession of more than twenty-five grams of cocaine, or more precisely 25.94 grams, which he was preparing to offer for sale, Seneweb has learned.

During the operation, the suspect allegedly offered investigators 500,000 CFA francs in exchange for his release. This offer, made while he was in police custody, has now resulted in an additional charge of attempted bribery, on top of the drug trafficking charges.

At this stage, the investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the network's activities and to identify any accomplices. The investigations conducted by the GLAD (Local Anti-Drug and Smuggling Group) should shed light on the ramifications of this trafficking operation between Keur Massar, Pikine, and Castors.

Les nigérians sont une calamité pour nos pays. Partout où ils vont, essaiment la prostitution, le trafic de drogue, le trafic d'être humain, le VIH, et la cybercriminalité. Malheureusement, du fait des accords de la CEDEAO sur la libre circulation et le libre établissement, ils ont accès direct à nos pays.
