Kolda : Bocar Kandé, correspondant de 2sTV, violemment agressé devant son domicile
Bocar Kandé was physically assaulted in front of his home this Monday after the 5 p.m. prayer. Returning from the neighborhood mosque where he had gone to perform his religious obligations, the journalist, a permanent correspondent for 2sTV in Kolda, found a man standing in front of his gate. When questioned about his presence, the assailant reacted by throwing a stone that struck the journalist's hand. Seriously injured, Bocar Kandé went to the gendarmerie to file a complaint against this individual, who was unknown in the Cité Abdou Diouf neighborhood where the incident occurred.
It should be noted that in this new neighborhood on the outskirts of Kolda, acts of banditry are frequently reported. The most recent incident involved a man riding a high-powered motorcycle at night, supposedly looking for fuel. Subdued by some local residents, this criminal was taken to the gendarmerie, where it was determined that he was a thief from villages near the border with Guinea-Bissau. This underscores the urgent need for residents of the Abdou Diouf neighborhood to demand daily patrols to neutralize these criminals who roam the area day and night.
