Kolda: Urban security forces trace an Indian hemp trafficking network back to Guinea

The urban security unit of the Kolda central police station presented three individuals arrested for possession, collective use, offering and transfer of Indian hemp to the Public Prosecutor on Monday.

These are ES FOFANA, aged 16, claiming to be a welder and residing in the Medina Chérif district; IK DIALLO, aged 13, claiming to be a carpenter and also residing in the Medina Chérif district; and M. SENE, alias "Baye FALL", aged 39, claiming to be a mason and residing in the Zone Lycée district.

The case originated with the arrest of ES FOFANA and IK DIALLO, caught in the act of possessing and collectively consuming marijuana. During questioning, ES FOFANA identified Mr. SENE as his supplier. Based on this statement, the Criminal Investigation Brigade was immediately tasked with arresting Mr. SENE.

The police arrested Mr. SENE, who was found in possession of a small bag of marijuana. A search of the premises he was guarding uncovered forty-one more bags of marijuana, two pairs of scissors, packaging paper, and nineteen thousand two hundred and seventy-five CFA francs, presented as the proceeds of the sale. When questioned about these activities, Mr. SENE readily admitted to them. He also stated that his supplier was A. DIALLO, residing in Guinea-Conakry.

The seized drugs, packaging materials, and recovered cash were placed under seal pending their transfer to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Following the proceedings, ES FOFANA, IK DIALLO, and M. SENE were brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of possession, collective use, offering, and distribution of cannabis.
