La banque SGSN escroquée à plus de 200 millions F CFA : Un présumé faussaire récidiviste arrêté par la DIC
The Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) brought PN Niang before the Dakar prosecutor's office on Monday morning. He is suspected of a large-scale fraud involving financial losses estimated at 230,100,000 CFA francs against Société Générale Sénégal (SGSN).
The case dates back to the signing of a lease agreement between SGSN and PN Niang. Under this financing contract, the bank provided PN Niang with a fleet of 10 vehicles. In return, PN Niang committed to paying a monthly fee of 3,900,000 CFA francs for 60 months, for a total value of 234,000,000 CFA francs, according to Seneweb sources.
However, according to the information submitted to the judicial authorities, the subscriber only made the first payment. Subsequently, the man disappeared and became unreachable by the bank's debt collection department, while continuing to operate the delivered vehicles.
Fake bank documents and GPS tracking
Faced with persistent non-payment, internal audits at SGSN revealed crucial irregularities: the bank statements submitted by PN Niang when applying for his loan were found to be falsified. Despite several formal summonses, he refused to appear before investigators or return the vehicles.
The DIC quickly launched an investigation. Police officers were able to geolocate all 10 vehicles using their GPS trackers, allowing them to be immobilized and seized.
Placed in police custody and questioned by DIC investigators, PN Niang admitted to having made only the first monthly payment. To justify these accumulated delays, he maintained that his own business partners, to whom he had sublet the vehicle fleet, had not honored their financial commitments.
When questioned about the origin of the controversial bank documents, Mr. Niang initially maintained their authenticity. However, confronted with numerous technical inconsistencies noted by analysts, he reportedly eventually admitted to having fabricated the false statements himself.
According to initial findings of the investigation, this is not the suspect's first brush with the law. Court records indicate that he was previously convicted for similar offenses in November 2025.
Now in the hands of the Dakar prosecutor's office, PN Niang awaits his fate. At this stage, he is being prosecuted for fraud and forgery.
