La SNR réaffirme sa solidarité avec l’Église catholique

As part of strengthening institutional relations with religious authorities, a delegation from the National Recovery Company (SNR) paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Monsignor Benjamin Ndiaye, Metropolitan Archbishop of Dakar, at the Archbishop's Residence.

At the head of the delegation, the Director General of the SNR, Babacar Ndiaye, reiterated that this initiative reflects the institution's desire to express its solidarity with the Catholic Church on the occasion of the 138th Marian Pilgrimage of Popenguine. "We have come to demonstrate our solidarity with the Catholic community and to request the prayers of the Archbishop of Dakar for a Senegal of peace, stability, and social cohesion, as well as for the entire sub-region," the Director General stated.

He also praised the peaceful coexistence between different religious communities in Senegal, a reality which, according to him, serves as a model far beyond national borders. "This peaceful coexistence should inspire public and private leaders to promote messages of peace, solidarity, and living together within all communities."

The Director General of the SNR also reiterated the organization's long-standing tradition of involvement in the nation's social life. "Whenever a major religious event is organized, the SNR mobilizes to provide material support, express its solidarity, and receive the prayers of religious communities," he explained. He emphasized that the SNR, as a key player in the semi-public sector, plays a vital role in mobilizing public resources for Senegal's economic and social development, hence the importance placed on these moments of communion with the country's diverse religious communities.

For his part, Archbishop Benjamin Ndiaye commended the SNR's initiative and the commitment of its director general. He emphasized that the support provided to the Church and to activities related to the pilgrimage remains invaluable, even after the event has taken place. The Archbishop of Dakar specifically highlighted the numerous needs related to the maintenance and upkeep of the infrastructure that welcomes the faithful, stressing that the contributions of partners remain essential to ensuring the sustainability of these places of faith and gathering.

Je préfère plutôt cohabitation en lieu et place de coexistence. Merci
