Louga : Braquage d’un point de service Wave, près de 10 millions de FCFA emportés
On the night of Monday to Tuesday, June 30, 2026, around 9 p.m., about fifteen armed and hooded individuals attacked a Wave service point located in the Montagne district, opposite the Keur Momar Sarr roundabout, in the municipality of Louga.
The assailants made off with cash and several mobile phones, for a total estimated loss of nearly 10 million CFA francs.
According to a source close to the investigation, the gang was travelling in an L200 type vehicle. The criminals were armed with machetes and firearms.
While some of the criminals entered the premises to seize the funds and phones used for money transfers, the other members of the gang remained outside. They fired several shots into the air to intimidate local residents and deter any attempt at intervention.
The robbers, who have not yet been identified, then fled with their loot. An investigation was immediately launched by the police to identify and arrest the members of this gang.
