Louga : Deux individus arrêtés avec 7 kg de chanvre indien à Moukh Moukh
The Louga Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) carried out an operation which resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of 7 kilograms of Indian hemp in Moukh Moukh, a locality located 52 kilometers from Louga.
It all started with operational intelligence reporting the existence of a suspected cannabis trafficking network run by a resident of the village of Lass. Following this information, the BRS (Brigade de Recherche et d'Intervention Spécialisée - Special Investigation and Research Brigade) quickly set up a surveillance operation to dismantle the network.
The investigation led to the interception of two suspects on a laterite track leading to the village of Diewal. A search of the bag they were carrying revealed five blocks of marijuana. A motorcycle they were using for transportation was also impounded.
The police then continued their investigation by searching the homes of the suspects. At the first suspect's home, investigators discovered two more blocks of Indian hemp, each weighing one kilogram, carefully concealed in a sealed plastic bucket.
The police also seized two cartons of whisky. The first contained twelve full bottles, while the second contained nine, already opened.
At the end of the operations, the report shows seven blocks of Indian hemp, representing a total weight of 7 kilograms after weighing, as well as a sum of money, mobile phones, bottles of whiskey and a Jakarta type motorcycle.
The two individuals arrested were taken to the service's premises for the purposes of the investigation.
