Lutte contre le trafic de drogue : trois individus interpellés, plus de 6 kg de chanvre indien saisis par la Section de Recherche de Saint-Louis
The Saint-Louis Research Section detained three individuals on October 12 and 13, 2026, suspected of possessing and trafficking cannabis. A total of 6.5 kilograms of the drug were seized, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the communication and public relations division of the national gendarmerie.
These arrests are part of operations conducted by the Research Section to curb the expansion of drug trafficking. Investigators carried out an investigation that led, in two stages, to the seizure of the drugs and the arrest of the suspects.
The first raid took place on October 12, 2026. On that day, members of the Research Section arrested, in Saint-Louis, an individual in possession of five (05) kilograms of Indian hemp.
The following day, October 13, 2026, investigators made another arrest in Saint-Louis. Two more individuals were apprehended with 1.5 kilograms of cannabis. The total amount seized during the two operations thus totaled 6.5 kilograms.
The three suspects have been taken into custody. They remain there pending their appearance before the judicial authorities, who will decide on the next steps in the proceedings.
