Lutte contre les violences basées sur le genre : Le Sénégal a officiellement validé son deuxième Plan d’action national
The Senegalese government has taken a decisive step in the protection of human rights. This Friday, September 11, 2026, the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, Marie Angellique Mame Selbé Diouf, proceeded with the institutional validation of the second National Action Plan for the Eradication of Gender-Based Violence and the Promotion of Human Rights (PAN VBG).
This meeting marks a major turning point in the national strategy to combat violence against women and men. This new strategic framework is directly aligned with the political vision of the "Senegal 2050" framework, initiated by President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, which places the development of human capital and civic dignity at the heart of the country's socio-economic trajectory.
According to the 2024 ANSD report on gender-based violence in Senegal, the prevalence of violence against women has increased from 27% to 31.9%. Furthermore, in a society where gender-based violence and femicide are commonplace, nearly one in three women in Senegal has experienced some form of violence. Behind these chilling statistics lies "the face of a woman or girl and the suffering of an entire family," stated the minister, who emphasized that no impunity can be tolerated.
Thus, in order to build a society where all people, particularly women, children, and vulnerable groups, live in safety, free from violence, and with respect for their fundamental rights and gender equality, Senegal has adopted its second National Action Plan (PAN VBG 2, 2027-2030). This plan is based on four guiding principles and seven strategic areas, with the overall objective of "the progressive eradication of all forms of gender-based violence" by providing legal and health assistance to victims (and survivors). It also aims to educate the public on respect for human dignity to prevent violence in all its forms.
Having validated this second Action Plan alongside strategic partners (Enabel, European Union, UN/Women), the Ministry of Family assures that "the State will assume all its responsibilities" in this fight against gender-based violence.

Beaucoup de femmes malmenée, c'est basé sur des paroles blessantes. Beaucoup de Maris tabassés c'est basé sur du chomage longue durée.
