Lycée Blaise Diagne : dix victimes et 25 millions F CFA encaissés, un surveillant pris la main dans le sac
A supervisor at Blaise Diagne High School, CY Touré, was located and arrested in Mbacké following a tip-off to the police. The 49-year-old man is being prosecuted for alleged visa fraud.
According to Libération, which broke the story, he is accused of defrauding about ten would-be emigrants to Europe, for a provisional loss estimated at 25 million CFA francs. The accused admitted to collecting advance payments ranging from 1,000,000 to 1,800,000 CFA francs, while claiming to have handed over all the funds to his associate, B. Mangassa, who reportedly became unreachable after receiving the money.

Unable to reimburse the victims, CY Touré reportedly sought refuge in Mbacké. He was eventually arrested after seven people from Dakar went to the police station to report the crimes, the same source added. He was taken into custody and an investigation has been launched.
