The urban security unit of the Mbour Central Police Station made a significant seizure of cannabis in the Gouye Mouride neighborhood. The operation followed a tip-off, and the suspected individuals fled before the police arrived, according to Seneweb sources.
It all started with an alert received by the police. According to the report, two individuals were loading suspicious merchandise onto a cart at a house in the Gouye Mouride neighborhood. The officers from the Urban Security division wasted no time and immediately deployed to the scene to conduct the necessary checks.
Eight sisal bags were discovered at the scene.
Once on the scene, investigators discovered eight sisal bags containing Indian hemp. After counting, the total weight of the prohibited merchandise was estimated at 227 kilograms, a considerable quantity.
The drugs were immediately seized and then taken to the police station for the purposes of the procedure.
Those involved managed to flee before the police arrived. The search continues to identify and apprehend them.
The neighborhood inquiry also revealed that the house in question is occupied by a single male tenant. An investigation has been launched to fully clarify the situation.
