Mbour : battu par sa belle-famille, l’agent de sécurité finit à l’hôpital
Mr. Touré, a security guard residing in the Darou Salam neighborhood, was violently attacked by his in-laws following a marital dispute. On the night of August 28, according to L'Observateur, a heated argument erupted between him and his wife, F. Nd. Thiombane, who was several months pregnant. He accused her of being constantly "glued to her cell phone." After the phone was damaged during the argument, she contacted her family, claiming she had been beaten.
His mother then dispatched his brother and sister, armed with a machete and a club. When Mr. Touré refused to let them in, they forced their way in and attacked him. Beaten severely, the officer was grabbed by the neck and dragged several meters. His alleged assailants then broke into his wardrobe and stole 70,000 FCFA, his bank cards, his professional ID card, and his cell phone.
Evacuated by neighbors, Mr. Touré spent two days in intensive care at Thierno Mouhamadoul Mansour Barro Hospital and was given a 20-day sick leave. Upon his release, he filed a complaint at the Diamaguène police station. During questioning, the three accused admitted to the acts, citing repeated domestic violence. All were remanded in custody at Mbour prison, but the wife was granted provisional release due to her advanced pregnancy.
The trio will appear next Tuesday before the Mbour High Court for trespassing, assault and battery and theft, details the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.
