Mbour – D'amies intimes à l'agression sauvage : Pourquoi cette dispute nocturne a failli tourner au meurtre
What really happened that night between C. Dione and her friend M. Diouf? Amid insults, professional tensions, and heated phone calls, the two women have given diametrically opposed accounts. The only certainty is that their dispute culminated in an extremely violent confrontation, with each now accusing the other of assault.
In the dock at the Mbour High Court, C. Dione, a real estate agent, and M. Diouf admitted to having been in conflict for several weeks. C. Dione accused her of slandering her to her employer, which allegedly led to her dismissal and exclusion from the professional WhatsApp group. "She caused me problems with my boss, who then fired me," she maintained during the summary proceedings.
For his part, Mr. Diouf claims he was violently assaulted by C. Dione, who allegedly bit his ear, causing him to be unable to work for 21 days. According to his account, after a heated telephone argument, C. Dione arrived at his home around 3:00 a.m., banging on the door and attempting to break it down with a bread knife. Mr. Diouf maintains he was only defending himself after managing to wrest the weapon from him.
" She almost slit my throat."
This version of events is categorically denied by C. Dione, who claims she went to her friend's house and simply ran into her on the street around 1 a.m. to ask her for an explanation regarding insults directed at her mother. C. Dione suffered multiple injuries all over her body, resulting in a 10-day work incapacity and permanent scarring. She maintains that she owes her life to the intervention of a taxi driver, accusing her friend of nearly slitting her throat.
During the proceedings, the presiding judge addressed Mr. Diouf directly, raising the issue of premeditation: "Your act was premeditated." In his closing argument, the prosecutor described these acts as "inhuman," emphasizing the exceptional severity of the abuse inflicted.
For her part, C. Dione's lawyer, Oumar Sène, emphasized the physical and psychological harm suffered by his client as a result of such mutilations, demanding 2 million CFA francs in damages. He also contested the claim that his client was armed, urging the court to adhere strictly to the evidence gathered during the investigation.
In response, Mr. Diouf also filed a counterclaim for 2.5 million CFA francs.
The court has taken the case under advisement and will render its decision on October 6th.
