Having come to preside over the official ceremony of the international Mawlid of Medina Baye 2026, the Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Mouhamadou Mactar Cissé, announced the visit of the Prime Minister, Ahmadou Al Amine Mouhamed Lo, to Medina Baye, scheduled for the day of Mawlid.

According to the minister, this visit reflects the particular importance that the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, attaches to the religious city of Cheikh Ibrahim Niass and to the Fayda Tijaniyya.

For Mouhamadou Mactar Cissé, the presence of the head of government in Medina Baye also demonstrates the authorities' desire to strengthen ties with religious families and to support the country's major religious events.
