Food for thought for all anti-burqa activists. Already seen as an instrument of subjugation of Muslim women, this full-face veil of Afghan origin allowed a woman to commit several thefts without attracting attention.
The events took place in the Medina district. According to the account in L'Observateur, which reported the incident, it all began with a theft complaint filed by BD Ndiaye on September 1st against an unidentified individual. The complainant stated that her apartment had been the target of multiple burglaries since July. Gold jewelry, wigs, 80,000 CFA francs in cash, perfume bottles, handbags, and fabrics were allegedly stolen.
"The recurring thefts and the mystery surrounding them prompted [BD Ndiaye] to ask the building's security guard and landlord to review the surveillance camera footage," reports L'Observateur. "The footage revealed that the thefts were all committed by the same person: someone who appeared to be a woman, dressed in a gray burqa and whose lower face was concealed by a mask. Her appearance made identification difficult. But that was without taking into account the expertise of the Medina police."
The investigators began a meticulous review of the videos. Their persistence led them to unmask the mysterious person and reveal their image to the complainant. "Upon seeing his face, the victim was in shock. Her attacker was none other than FB Bâ, an acquaintance of hers, living in Keur Massar. Someone she trusted."
Arrested by the police, the suspect confessed. L'Observateur reports that she admitted to taking advantage of a moment of inattention from her victim to steal the keys to her apartment, duplicate them, and then enter and leave the premises without difficulty, concealed by her burqa and mask. She was remanded in custody for multiple burglaries committed with forced entry and the use of false keys.
"The public prosecutor's office has been informed and the investigation is continuing to determine if other people are involved or if the suspect has committed other crimes by taking advantage of her burqa," concludes L'Observateur.

Donc ce voile intégral est une pratique des premières musulmanes et qui a existé dans toute les sociétés musulmanes par la suite. Ce n'est pas une obligation mais une très forte sunnah. Et celui qui s'y oppose et ment à son sujet qu'il se prépare à se justifier devant Allah subhana wa taala .
