Meurtre mystique de Tivaouane : l’autopsie écarte la thèse du viol, le suspect attendu devant le procureur de Thiès
The investigation into the mystical murder of Ndèye Bigué Sène is nearing its end. The Tivaouane police station has practically closed the case, and the main suspect, B. Ndiaye, described as a charlatan, is scheduled to be brought before the public prosecutor at the Thiès High Court this Thursday, August 27, barring any changes to the plans.
According to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb, the autopsy report, submitted to investigators last Tuesday, sheds crucial light on the circumstances surrounding the death of the 20-year-old woman. Contrary to the rape theory put forward by some since the body was discovered, the forensic pathologist found no evidence to support it.
Death by manual strangulation
According to the medical report, the victim's body, found poorly preserved and in the early stages of decomposition, showed several traumatic injuries:
• two superficial arc-shaped skin wounds located at different levels on the right lateral cervical region;
• a large right laterocervical hematoma;
• a fracture of the greater right horn of the hyoid bone, at the level of the neck;
• a left temporal hematoma, without involvement of the skull bones but with cerebral congestion;
• two superficial circular erosive skin wounds, less than one centimeter in diameter, in the left submammary area;
• an abrasion of approximately 1.2 cm on the back of both hands.
The vulvar and perineal examination revealed no particular lesions. As the body was dehydrated, the medical examiner was unable to obtain a cardiac blood sample, but samples were nevertheless collected for histopathological and toxicological analysis. Microscopic examination of the vaginal smear showed no cells suggestive of the presence of sperm.
"Overall, the cause of death is consistent with mechanical asphyxiation by manual strangulation," the medical examiner concluded in his report. The results of further toxicological analyses, still pending, could nevertheless provide additional details on the exact circumstances of the victim's death.
A reminder of the facts!
Arrested as part of the investigation opened on August 22, 2026, B. Ndiaye confessed. He claimed to have acted under the mystical influence of a marabout who called himself Coulibaly, whom he met by chance on public transport during a trip within the country. The marabout allegedly promised him wealth and a better future in exchange for carrying out specific instructions.
According to his statements, the mysterious Coulibaly gave him a horn wrapped in a red cloth labeled "Naw Naw," as well as two bottles, one empty and the other containing an unidentified substance. The suspect was to find a young virgin girl, administer this liquid to her, and then, once the victim was subdued, strike her twice under her left breast, twice in the back, and once in the neck, before collecting her blood in the empty bottle and finishing the act by strangulation.
B. Ndiaye admitted to all the charges against him, explaining that he remained with the body for over an hour before leaving the scene. He also stated that he threw the victim's cell phone along the railway tracks, without being able to specify the exact location.
Charged with premeditated murder, the suspect will be brought before the courts this Thursday, in a case that continues to cause a stir in Tivaouane.
