Migration irrégulière : 26 migrants et 2 passeurs sénégalais arrêtés en Gambie

Following the interception of 12 individuals attempting irregular migration by the Gambian Department of Immigration (GID) on Saturday, October 3, in the Tanji area, 36 more people were arrested the same day in Bakau as they were preparing to clandestinely reach the European coast. Thirty-three migrants and three suspected smugglers (one Gambian and two Senegalese) were apprehended. The migrants consisted of 26 Senegalese, eight Gambians, and one Malian. The group comprised 24 men, 11 women, and one child.

The 36 people were taken to Tanji for further investigation. The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of this attempted departure and to identify any other members of the smuggling network.
