Migration irrégulière : Plus de 100 migrants partis de la Gambie secourus au sud d’El Hierro
The Spanish coast guard rescued a pirogue carrying more than 100 migrants south of the island of El Hierro in the Canary Islands archipelago on Wednesday.
According to testimonies gathered from the migrants, the boat had departed from Batu Kunku, Gambia, and had been adrift for five days before their rescue. On board were Gambian, Senegalese, Guinean, and Cameroonian nationals. The migrants were taken into the care of Spanish authorities upon their arrival on the island.
