A gruesome discovery has shaken the Medina district. A Cameroonian woman was found dead in her home, several days after her death.
The alarm was raised by neighbors, intrigued by a foul odor that persisted in the building as well as by the prolonged absence of the resident, whom they had not seen for at least three days.
According to eyewitness accounts, the victim led a very isolated life. Homebound and reserved, she usually spent most of her time locked inside her home. This discretion delayed the discovery of the tragedy by her neighbors, some of whom had just returned from the Gamou celebrations.
Deeply affected by this event, local residents were keen to emphasize the vulnerability of people living alone, exposed to the risk of a sudden illness or medical distress without the possibility of calling for help in time.
The relevant services and law enforcement officers went to the scene to carry out the usual investigations before proceeding with the removal of the body.
