Ndamatou: Three individuals brought before a judge after a burglary of 8 million CFA francs in Dahra Djolof

The Ndamatou district police station has brought three individuals before the prosecutor's office on charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery committed at night with violence, use of bladed weapons and firearms, as well as complicity and forgery for one of them. The case specifically concerns the burglary of a general store in Dahra Djolof on the night of October 19, with losses estimated at 8 million CFA francs.

It all started with a night patrol conducted on October 20, 2026, around 6:00 a.m. Members of the investigation unit spotted a white Mitsubishi driving without license plates at the Tally Boubess roundabout. After a chase, the driver stopped the vehicle near the Khaira roundabout before fleeing on foot to evade a police check.

A search of the vehicle allowed police to discover several incriminating items, including traces of blood, tools that could be used to break into a building, a jack, a screwdriver, a machete and an iron bar, a black balaclava, master keys, various administrative and personal documents, a bag containing clothing, and receipts. The vehicle also showed signs of forced entry, notably damage to the ignition lock and the right rear windshield.

The first suspect was apprehended at the scene after the driver fled. The investigation then linked the incident to a burglary at a convenience store in Dahra Djolof, which had occurred the previous day, October 19, around 8 p.m. The estimated value of the stolen goods is 8 million CFA francs. The incident had been widely circulated on social media.

The ongoing investigation led to the arrest of the alleged ringleader in Dahra Djolof. A search of his home yielded two rounds of ammunition concealed in military clothing, as well as license plates.

With the assistance of the Wakhinane Nimzatt police station in Dakar, the third individual, presented as the maker of the master keys, was also apprehended and then taken to the investigating service.

The three suspects were brought before the prosecutor's office. The investigation is ongoing.
