An image circulating on social media, purported to be that of the suspect in the Tivaouane murder case, is currently being used to create the image. Police have issued a formal denial, stating that the image was created using artificial intelligence (AI), according to a statement sent to Seneweb.

The widely circulated photo shows a man facing the camera, wearing a traditional light blue tunic. He stands against a dark background with a light horizontal band. The image also bears the words "Police Communication," the national police logo, and a play symbol in the center, giving the impression that it is a still from an official publication or video.

But this image does not correspond to the actual suspect. According to the police, it is an image generated and manipulated using artificial intelligence. Malicious individuals are believed to have deliberately altered the photo initially released by the national police on its digital communication platforms.

The face visible in the montage is therefore an artificial creation and does not correspond to that of the real suspect in this case.

Police warn against disinformation

Through this clarification, the national police force intends to set the record straight and prevent this misrepresentation from further misleading the public. The institution also denounces an attempt, it believes, to discredit the national police by disseminating falsified content using its visual identity and communication materials.

The police say they intend to get to the bottom of this, especially the circumstances in which this image was made and disseminated .

She therefore calls on citizens and internet users to be vigilant regarding content circulating on social networks and not to consider as authentic images or publications whose origin is not clearly established.

Si c'était un voleur , agresseur, bref un malfaiteurs tué c'est compréhensible. Mais un innocent ! Un four rék ou brûler vif.
