« Ne dis pas Allahu Akbar ici » : Il interdit à son camarade de prier avant de l’agresser à coups de pierre
B. Sène, working as a porter at a bus station in Thiès, appeared in court to answer charges of assault and battery against his colleague A. Ndiaye. The particularly serious violence resulted in the victim being unable to work for 40 days.
According to the investigation, B. Sène is a regular user of marijuana. On the day of the incident, as his friend A. Ndiaye was preparing to pray, the defendant categorically opposed him, forbidding him from saying "Allahu Akbar" on the spot, while also making threats. Ignoring these provocations, A. Ndiaye began his prayer.
It was at this moment that B. Sène struck him violently in the eye with a stone. Seriously injured, the victim had to be rushed to the hospital for intensive care.
In court, B. Sène initially tried to deny the charges. Confronted with the overwhelming evidence in the case and the testimonies of several residents describing him as a particularly violent individual, he finally admitted his responsibility.
Considering the facts to be perfectly established, the prosecution requested a six-month prison sentence. Recognizing the seriousness of the assault, the court went beyond the prosecution's request, sentencing B. Sène to eight months in prison.
