Népal : un Sénégalais arrêté avec 76 capsules de cocaïne, il avait rendez-vous avec deux Indiennes
Three foreign nationals have been arrested in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, for international drug trafficking. According to Les Échos, which is reporting on the case, the main suspect is a 43-year-old Senegalese man. Amadou S., as he is known, was arrested in a hotel in Thamel, a tourist district. He arrived in the country from Ethiopia on a Qatar Airways flight. "He had been placed under surveillance due to his behavior, which was deemed suspicious," Les Échos notes. The newspaper reports that Amadou S. was arrested "in possession of 16 capsules of cocaine, which he had swallowed."
"Medical examinations subsequently revealed the presence of other capsules in his digestive system," the newspaper continued. "He was hospitalized and underwent a procedure to remove 60 more capsules. In total, 76 capsules containing approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine were recovered by the authorities."
The newspaper reports that the Senegalese man was arrested along with two Indian women. According to the same source, these women had arrived from New Delhi and were to collect the drugs being transported by the Senegalese man. "The three suspects are now under investigation for drug trafficking under Nepalese drug laws," concludes Les Échos.
