The fight against drug trafficking continues in the Mbour department. The Nianing local police brigade made a significant seizure of Indian hemp on Friday, October 30, 2026, on the beach near the RIU Baobab hotel.

In total, 205 kilograms of Indian hemp were discovered by the police following a report of suspicious packages on the beach.

Dispatched to the scene, members of the brigade carried out a thorough search which led to the discovery of six parcels and twenty packets of Indian hemp.

Specifically, the seizure involved five packages of 30 kilograms each, another of 35 kilograms and twenty packages representing a total weight of 20 kilograms.

All the drugs were taken to the gendarmerie unit. An investigation has been opened to determine the origin of this large quantity of cannabis and to identify those responsible.
