Oussouye : Un présumé meurtre secoue le village de Loudia Diola
A tragedy shook the commune of Mlomp, in the district of Loudia Wolof, department of Oussouye, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. A man was found dead in tragic circumstances, leaving the population in shock.
The lifeless body of Kanka Valentin Diatta, a weaver from Mlomp Etébemaye, single and childless, was discovered around 5 p.m. by the owner of the house where he lived, according to our sources. The victim was lying in a pool of blood in the hallway of the house. Initial findings led the gendarmes to the home of Ibrahima Diatta, a farmer residing in Loudia Diola, who has been identified as a suspect in the case. He was found in possession of a bloodstained weapon, believed to be the murder weapon.
To prevent the suspected murderer from being lynched by the crowd, he was immediately taken to the Oussouye territorial brigade headquarters. Kanka Valentin Diatta 's body was taken to the morgue at the Oussouye health center.
An investigation has been launched to shed light on what appears to be a crime.
