Paoskoto : un trafiquant de crack interpellé par la gendarmerie de Nioro lors d'une opération d'infiltration
As part of the fight against drug trafficking, the Commander of the Nioro Territorial Brigade, Chief Warrant Officer Souleymane Thior, and his team carried out a successful operation in the commune of Paoskoto. The gendarmes acted on intelligence indicating hard drug trafficking in the area. Based on this information, they decided to launch an undercover operation.
To carry out this operation, the police officers posed as customers and thus trapped the trafficker. The latter, eager to sell his product, arranged to meet the investigators on the night of Saturday, October 3, 2026, around 11 p.m.
Upon arriving at the meeting place, the gendarmes set up an ambush. The trafficker, V. Wilane, a motorcycle driver residing in Nioro Commune, was arrested in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine. His accomplice managed to escape as soon as he saw the gendarmes.
The investigation is still ongoing. It aims to apprehend the second individual, who is still at large, and to dismantle the entire network.
At the end of the investigation, the accused will be brought before the Kaolack prosecutor's office.
