In the early hours of Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at approximately 2:00 AM, the Pikine district police station's investigation unit arrested two individuals in a two-part operation involving a stakeout and a wiretap. The drug dealer and his client are now in custody.

It all started with an anonymous call reporting that an individual was selling drugs in his neighborhood of Pikine Cité 3. Investigators then positioned themselves near his home. A few minutes later, A. Cissokho, 20 years old, an electrician residing in Pikine Icotaf, was arrested upon returning home. A pat-down revealed a small bag of marijuana, two cell phones, and 15,000 CFA francs concealed in his pocket.

A search of his room yielded a second packet of Indian hemp, seven crack rocks, and a precision scale concealed in a satchel. A. Cissokho was taken into custody immediately.

On the way to the police station, the dealer's phone rang. The head of the BR answered and pretended to be Cissokho. On the other end of the line was A. Diop, 39, a porter living near the Beaux Maraîchers train station, who ordered a rock of crack cocaine, completely unaware of what was happening. He was arranged to meet in front of a "tangana" (cafeteria) where he was arrested. A search revealed only a cell phone. When questioned about his payment method, he stated that he had planned to pay via Wave.

After being briefly questioned at the police station, A. Cissokho admitted to drug trafficking, while A. Diop claimed to be a simple user. Both men were taken into custody; the former for drug trafficking and criminal conspiracy, and the latter for attempted drug purchase. Three cell phones, two packets of marijuana, seven rocks of crack cocaine, precision scales, and 15,000 CFA francs were seized and placed under seal. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko was informed of the facts.
