Police nationale : L’adjudant Moustapha Diédhiou s’illustre au Caire et décroche une distinction continentale
Senegal has distinguished itself on the African policing scene thanks to Warrant Officer Moustapha Diédhiou, serving in the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC). The Senegalese police officer won first place for best working document at the 412th International Training Course on Combating Organized Crime, held in Cairo, Egypt.
This training course, which took place from August 22 to October 15, 2026, at the Police Research Center of the Cairo Police Academy, brought together 109 trainees from 26 African countries. Organized in coordination with the EAPD, it allowed participants to deepen their knowledge and skills in combating various forms of organized crime.
Adjutant Moustapha Diédhiou was recognized for his document on "e-payment crimes," a phenomenon that poses a growing challenge for security services in the era of the dematerialization of financial transactions.
With the rise of electronic payments, crimes related to digital transactions are forcing security forces to strengthen their investigative capabilities and adapt to increasingly complex methods of operation. The choice of this topic reflects the importance of the new challenges facing investigative services.
Moustapha Diédhiou, a graduate of the 48th class of police non-commissioned officers, also distinguished himself in the field in March 2025, when he held the position of deputy commander of the urban corps in Rufisque.
In Diamaguène, following a fatal accident that sparked public anger, he helped to ease tensions through dialogue. His intervention highlighted the importance of self-control, listening, and the peaceful management of sensitive situations.
From this field intervention to this distinction obtained in Cairo, Adjutant Diédhiou's career illustrates two dimensions of police work: managing delicate situations in contact with the population and strengthening skills in the face of new forms of crime.
This recognition constitutes a distinction for the police officer and highlights the participation of Senegalese officers in specialized training courses dedicated to security and police cooperation in Africa.
