Pont de l'Émergence : Un Malien arrêté pour vol présumé d'une fillette de 3 ans
A Malian national was apprehended near the Emergence interchange in the middle of the night, in the company of a 3-year-old girl whom he could not identify. The child, who had been missing for several hours, was eventually returned to her father.
Around 1 a.m., S. Ba, a 36-year-old farmer of Malian nationality residing in Mali, was taken to the Parcelles-Assainies district police station by S. Wade, P. Diatta, and M. Kane. They had caught him near the Emergence interchange with a girl of about three years old, in a situation they deemed suspicious. While they were attempting to arrest him, S. Ba reportedly fled before being apprehended.
When questioned by the police, S. Ba stated that he found the girl alone in Grand-Yoff and took her under his protection, claiming to be unaware of her identity or that of her parents.
But around 2 a.m., a man named O. Diallo went to the police station where he formally identified his daughter, D. Diallo, 3 years old, who had been missing since 10 p.m. after going out to buy candy with other children from the neighborhood. After verification, the child was returned to her father, after being interviewed and a statement was recorded.
The public prosecutor has been informed of the facts and an investigation has been opened.
