Rufisque: discovery of a decomposing body in the Thiokho district

A lifeless body in an advanced state of decomposition was discovered on Monday, September 7, 2026, in the Thiokho neighborhood, behind the National Printing Office in Rufisque. The victim has been identified as EMA DIALLO, 65 years old. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of death.

On September 7, 2026, the Rufisque police station was notified of the discovery of a lifeless body in the Thiokho neighborhood. A site visit by investigators allowed them to identify the victim as EMA DIALLO, aged 65, who had resided in the neighborhood during his lifetime.

Given the nature of the discovery, a team from the Research Brigade was immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation.

At the scene, investigators were received by Mr. Seck, the deceased's cousin, at whose home the latter rented a room. According to Mr. Seck's statements, the deceased had not been heard from since around 6:00 PM on September 5, 2026. Having not seen him for two days, he alerted the neighbors on September 7.

When the deceased remained unresponsive, the bedroom door was forced open. It was then that the lifeless body, already in a state of decomposition, was discovered. The victim was lying naked on the floor, his face covered in blood.

According to statements from the deceased's brother, the latter had been suffering from a stroke for more than a year and was living alone in his room.

Given the advanced state of decomposition of the body, and on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor at the Rufisque High Court, approved by the deceased's family, the body of EMA DIALLO was buried. It should be noted that, due to this situation, an autopsy could not be performed.

The public prosecutor at the Rufisque High Court has been notified of this case. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact cause of EMA DIALLO's death.
