SANTÉ REPRODUCTIVE DES ADOLESCENTS : LES TABOUS FAMILIAUX ET LA STIGMATISATION POINTÉS DU DOIGT
Despite the efforts of the Ministry of Health, adolescents continue to face obstacles in accessing information and reproductive health services. Taboos, stigmatization, and a lack of dialogue within families are among the difficulties noted by Diouma Diouf, a member of the cabinet of the First Lady, Marie Khone Faye, and a trainer in the "Adolescent and Youth Reproductive Health" (SRHAJ) program.
According to her, communication between parents and children remains insufficient on these issues. Teenagers sometimes lack family support and guidance at school, even though they need reliable information to better understand their bodies and make informed decisions.
Diouma Diouf also points out that girls are more exposed to sexual and gender-based violence, which constitutes obstacles to their development.
The training of young ambassadors for reproductive health thus appears as a lever to disseminate the knowledge acquired to their peers, their families and their communities, and to contribute to changing behaviors.
