Saraya : la gendarmerie démantèle des sites d'orpaillage clandestin à Bantako
As part of the fight against the illegal exploitation of mineral resources near the Falémé River, the Saraya Territorial Brigade carried out an operation on October 18, 2026, to dismantle clandestine gold mining sites in Bantako, a village in the commune of Bembou.
This operation resulted in the seizure and destruction of a significant amount of equipment. The gendarmes seized forty-eight spitting machines, which were subsequently destroyed.
They also seized seven motorcycle tricycles, including two "piki paka", six motorcycles, four generators, eleven motor pumps and six jackhammers.
