Tambacounda : La vente de carburant en vrac interdite pendant un mois
The prefect of Tambacounda, Alioune Badara Mbengue, has issued an order prohibiting the sale of bulk fuel throughout the entire department. The measure, contained in order no. 0000251/PTC/SP of June 9, 2026, will be in effect from June 11 to July 11, 2026.
According to the authority, this decision aims to strengthen public safety by limiting the risks associated with the unsafe handling, storage and transport of flammable products.
It is also part of an effort to preserve official fuel supply channels and local reserves.
The administration also intends to combat cross-border trafficking as well as clandestine activities using fuel under conditions contrary to the regulations in force.
However, exceptions may be granted to avoid disrupting essential services and certain economic activities. Individuals or organizations with justified needs may request special authorization to purchase and transport fuel in bulk.
For this purpose, application forms are available at the Tambacounda prefecture as well as in the sub-prefectures of Missirah, Koussanar, Makacolibantang and at the level of service station managers.
