Textiles: Minister Idrissa Samb seals a major agreement with Serigne Mboup

This is a strong step for the industrial revival of the Saloum-Saloum basin. The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Idrissa Samb, presided over the signing ceremony of a strategic partnership agreement with the company Domitexka Saloum, represented by its CEO, Serigne Mboup, in Kaolack on Friday, October 16, 2026, in the presence of the region's administrative and territorial authorities.

While praising the commitment of the textile flagship to revitalizing the sector, the minister highlighted the involvement of the Directorate General of Vocational and Technical Training (DGFPT) as well as the financial support of the Vocational and Technical Training Financing Fund (3FPT).

Human capital at the heart of the Senegal 2050 Vision

For Idrissa Samb, reviving the industrial sector is impossible without massive investment in national skills. "Senegal's industrial development depends as much on the quality of its investments as on the quality of its human capital," he stated in his address, emphasizing the need to integrate career paths into the country's development priorities.

The minister reaffirmed the government's roadmap: "We must make vocational and technical training a true lever of economic sovereignty and industrial transformation, in perfect alignment with the major orientations of the Senegal 2050 Vision."

The meeting concluded with the presentation of internship completion certificates to the young beneficiaries of the qualification programs developed jointly by the DGFPT and Domitexka Saloum with the support of the 3FPT, illustrating the authorities' commitment to promoting expertise and skills development among local talent.
