The Gaston Bachelard school is in mourning following the tragic death of young Mamadou Yaya Diallo, a 9th-grade student at the school. The victim, who suffered from epilepsy, was riding his bicycle near the school on the day of the tragedy. Unfortunately, the young boy reportedly collapsed and fell heavily about 100 meters from the school.

Alerted, local residents immediately took him to a nearby doctor's office, where the child sadly succumbed to his injuries. His body was taken to the morgue at Dalal Jamm Hospital in Guédiawaye.

The Tivaouane Peulh gendarmerie brigade has opened an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
